Confirmed by SASSA on 15 October 2026
These are no longer provisional dates. SASSA revised the November schedule after Wednesday 4 November 2026 was declared a public holiday for the Local Government Elections.
November 2026 is not a normal payment month. Because election day falls on Wednesday 4 November, SASSA moved the whole first-week schedule forward. The biggest change affects pensioners: the Older Persons grant is paid on Friday 30 October 2026 — in October, not November. Disability grants follow on Monday 2 November, Children's grants on Tuesday 3 November, and beneficiaries whose grants are under review or need verification are paid on Thursday 5 November. SRD R370 runs in its usual month-end window.

Why the November dates changed
Wednesday 4 November 2026 is a public holiday for the Local Government Elections. Under the normal pattern, the Older Persons grant would have been paid around Tuesday 3 November and Disability grants on Wednesday 4 November. Moving the schedule avoids paying grants on a day when SASSA offices, banks and some pay points are closed.
SASSA confirmed the revision on 15 October 2026. The announcement followed the proclamation of the election date, which made 4 November a nationwide public holiday. Beneficiaries do not need to apply or register for the change — payments are released automatically on the revised dates.
What the change means for you
- Pensioners are paid on Friday 30 October 2026. The next Older Persons payment after that is in December, so this money must stretch roughly five weeks.
- Disability beneficiaries are paid on Monday 2 November 2026 — one business day before election day.
- Children's grants are paid on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Collect early on that day if you want to avoid the pre-holiday queues.
- Do not travel to a SASSA office or pay point on Wednesday 4 November expecting a payment. It is a public holiday.
- Review and verification cases are handled separately on Thursday 5 November 2026. Only beneficiaries who received an SMS or letter need to act.
- SRD R370 has not been paid yet. Batches are expected from 24 November and are confirmed individually in the SRD portal.
If your money does not arrive on the date
Wait until the end of the payment day
Bank transfers and card credits can reflect at different times during the day. A payment showing as released does not always appear in your balance immediately.
Check your grant status
Use the SRD portal at srd.sassa.gov.za or the SASSA WhatsApp line on 082 046 8553 to confirm that your grant is approved and active for November.
Allow three business days
If your grant is paid by bank transfer, allow up to three business days after the official date, especially around the 4 November public holiday.
Contact SASSA if it is still missing
Call 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest SASSA office with your ID and proof of payment method. Do not pay anyone to 'release' your grant.
Election-week scam warning
Scammers often use schedule changes to send fake 'payment cancelled' or 'verify your grant' SMS messages. SASSA never asks for your PIN, OTP or online banking password by SMS, WhatsApp or phone. Delete suspicious links and report the number to 0800 60 10 11.
Frequently asked questions
What are the SASSA payment dates for November 2026?
Older Persons grants: Friday 30 October 2026. Disability grants: Monday 2 November 2026. Children's grants: Tuesday 3 November 2026. Review and verification cases: Thursday 5 November 2026. SRD R370 batches are expected from 24 to 30 November 2026.
Why is the Older Persons grant paid on 30 October?
SASSA moved the November schedule forward because Wednesday 4 November 2026 is a public holiday for the Local Government Elections. Paying pensioners on Friday 30 October avoids a payment date that clashes with the long weekend and election day.
Is 4 November 2026 a public holiday?
Yes. Wednesday 4 November 2026 is a nationwide public holiday for the Local Government Elections. SASSA offices and most pay points are closed, and no grants are paid on that day.
When is SRD paid in November 2026?
SRD R370 batches are expected from 24 to 30 November 2026, but SASSA confirms each batch individually. Check your status in the SRD portal after the 20th of the month to see your exact payment date.
Will December 2026 payments also be paid early?
Permanent grants are expected in the first week of December (2, 3 and 4 December). SASSA has not announced an early December payout. SRD batches are expected to start around 23 December so money lands before Christmas, but this is provisional.
Do I need to re-apply because the dates changed?
No. The revision only changes the payment date. Your approval, grant amount and payment method stay the same. Never give your details to anyone who says you must 're-register' because of the election.
